When we established the concept, we wanted to create a leading magazine that would both extol the opportunities available in Turkey – but also enlighten newcomers from the United Kingdom and others in the European Community (EC), to the realism of modern-day Turkish culture and its’ commercial ways. Hence, ExTRa-time was born, and now represents THE Turkish Magazine.

Whilst, we strive to appeal to business professionals, tourists and investors alike, our constant desire to stay in touch with latest developments – makes this a read for ALL. Unlike other publications, through a team of Turkish and Western contributors, ExTRa-time remains accurate and alive.

The strategic-location of Turkey means this vibrant Country is the focus of much attention, heightened by an impending entrance to the EC. Described as a gateway, it uniquely boasts a foot in both European and Asian camps.

It has an intriguing population of 70+ Million with demographic challenges and rich veins (70% <35). It has not lost its’ attractiveness for inexpensive procurement and favorable returns on investment abound. Future competition from the BRIC Countries is reported, but Turkey cannot be ignored with growth in recent years comparable with the ‘power-houses’ of India and China. 

The truth about Turkey does benefit from explanation – and this is where ExTRa-time excels. Economic stability, control of inflation and political solidity has firmed-up potential for overseas investment. Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952 – and a secular state since 1923 (religion and politics separate) courtesy of Attaturk.  Currently foreign investment into Turkey is estimated at $10Billion per annum.

The ExTRa-time brand is growing. Reputation facilitates penetration of like-minded ‘hearts and minds’. It is our mission to take YOU with us. We know it is an old maxim but “our success depends on how WE perform” – that’s YOU and US.

  • A portal for communication by established ‘players’ and those considering ‘trying’ new business or suppliers

  • An announcement of best practice, so that others may learn – and benchmarking in instances
  • The Magazine to help YOUR business promotional and marketing aspirations
  • A forum for information exchange
  • ....and maybe via odd controversy and scoops, a stimulus for debate.

What we are not:

  • Political in anyway
  • Representative of specific sponsors’ desires for editorial control
  • Offering persuasion on any religious stance
  • A series of nice stories based without any factual grounding.

The contents of ExTRa-TIME are not rigid but will remain flexible to trends, tastes and demands. There may be seasonal bias. However, to continue to appeal to the business professionals, investors and tourists that we try to serve – there is expected to be some continuous theming of:

  • Economic outlook and analysis
  • New business and marketing opportunities – with a sprinkling of tenders
  • Finger on the pulse of culture and Turkish lifestyles
  • Commentary on sign-posting for businesses and investors
  • Case studies
  • Information share including ‘Dear Ed’.
